Anyone have any extremely friendly chickens? What are their stories? My Jersey Giant is the weirdest. Every time i go outside, she runs to me immediately (she probably wants treats, but if you’ve ever seen a jersey giant run you now how funny it is) and won’t leave my side. I’ve had her from an egg, and unfortunately for the first 3 days of her life she only had humans for company, so i think that made her very friendly. I also have a little disabled silkie cross, and every time i go near her run she runs up to the edge to get to me. If i put my hands down she’ll jump on them as well to be picked up. Another thing I thought was cute, is that if i just spend some time sitting with her, she’ll start purring.

My leghorn Daisy would run whenever I came out and many times just jump up and say hi. I spilled a lot of coffee after being startled as she jumped in my lap!

I've got 6 pullets (all about 11 months) and 3 are lap birds.

Rosie, golden comet, is always first to snuggle but doesn't stay long:

Coco, barred rock, settles right down to nap and coo. She will stay as long as I let her:

Honey, BO, is the head hen and once she gets on my lap doesn't move until she is good and ready. She leans right up against me, like a dog looking for pats, and talks my ear off:

The other 3 girls (barred rock, golden comet, cinnamon queen) are all very friendly and curious. They will let me handle them and will consent to cuddles if I make them :p!

I'm looking to add to my flock and want more lap birds. I understand EEs are great -- but it seems to be so individual. More about the bird than the breed. Looking for any suggestions!
