Midnight got up and crawled out of the den.

The herd panicked and ran. Mist picked up speed and nipped at the targeted deer's heels and it started to swerve away from the herd.

Midnight sat down and gazed around the den site. It was quiet this morning and was thinking about what Black said about her being soft. It almost seemed true. She tried to spare Luka the fighting and cared about feelings. She couldn't soften. If Fang found out in anyway she was weak, who knows what would happen.

The deer grunted and bucked back to try and hit one of them. Mist's shoulder was nicked with its sharp hoof and left a scratch.
