"When I became beta, it was never about the power. I just wanted to help the pack as best I could. For me, that meant leading when I was needed. You'd be a great leader if you became beta," she says, gazing into his eyes. Wow. she thinks. His eyes are amazing. "Unless you prefer being pack mate, of course." she tells him, looking away.

Jay looked at little sad. " I am sorry."

She blinks hard. "It's not your fault. Life in the Blood pack must have been terrible. You did the right thing running away. If you hadn't, I would have never met you," she says to him with a small smile.

Jay nodded.

 

 

"No it's alright. Ill walk in the shallow end." She turned and began to look for shallow water.

Star shook her head. " The shallow stuff is near the other area of the forest." Shadow swam across. " Get onto my back." He said.

Alright she said. She was too tired to argue. All though she did not trust him.

Shadow grinned. " Come on!"

She carefully lifted herself on his back.
