Friends for Jadwiga Hatch a Long!

Everyone has hatched except Maple! They are all sleeping peacefully in the brooder right now.

For Maple, I can still hear her cheeping in her egg, and I don't think she has been pipped for 24 hours. So I'm just going to keep cool and let her do her thing!!

HATCH IS COMPLETE!! 🐣

Maple hatched last night at 0330! She had a few hours to fluff up and relax in the incubator, and now she is snuggled with her brood mates in the brooder.

Wow!! Six of seven eggs hatched! We are so happy with the great hatch rate for our first time. Now hopefully at least ONE is female so Jadwiga can have a friend! Probability equations say the odds of at least one being female are 98% so that’s a relief.

Thanks for following along and for offering encouragement and advice, especially @Cheekychook12 . I appreciated all your help!

They are adorable!! You should definitely get at least one girl
Will you keep any of the roosters?

I’m not planning on it; they’re not allowed in my neighborhood, and since I have young kids I don’t want to risk an aggressive rooster. Not sure what I’ll do with any males but that’s a problem for future me!
