Hiya everyone! What happened?
Luckyducksmama has a poorly Duck, we tried to help, but she didn't reply, so we don't know what happened...
Oh no! I know a good duck expert @Amiga

Hm…
Wait a minute . . . ??
I got notified because you used @Amiga.
Anyway, I sent a PM to luckyducksmama. She must have her hands full with such an injury! Here is what I suggested.
Ducks can survive some horrific injuries. Not always, but they can sometimes.
I would irrigate the wound with saline solution, and lightly cover it, don't cut off the air to the wound. Keep the ducky in, away from flies (they lay their eggs in open wounds).
Find some antibiotics - penicillin, perhaps, or duramycin. Start gathering dosage information for that.
Clip the feathers around the edge of the wound. This will help you see things better.
A vet is best, but we don't always have them.
hennible said her vet told her Advil is okay for ducks. Here is the dosage info she posted.
For ducks 6-8 lbs 25-40mg twice daily adult tablets cut up or children's liquid Advil 1.5ml twice daily, orally.
Please let us know how things are going. I will look for your post on emergencies or the duck forum, I saw reference to this on frindizzle's chat thread.
