Frindizzle's Chicken Show - Closed!

I've only had hawk problems once. A hawk attacked twice in one afternoon, but the Cochin bantams were apparently too heavy for him. The second time we saw him my grandpa shot a gun to scare him away.
So I haven't tried the pans, by I see lots of yards with them to keep deer from the gardens.

I had a LF Cochin Who a hawk got. it must have been a weak hawk

since we are talking about hawks and i need to tell somebody about this, is it normal to have a rooster attack a owl? my rooster is apparently very vicious. but i didnt lose any girls!

It's not unheard of, for sure. Roosters will attack all kinds of animals to defend his flock.

Other: Fred is the sweetest, most unprotective rooster ever. He lets my head hen be in charge and be the lookout. Thank goodness they live in a big covered run. He is also a self proclaimed lap chicken
