I'm new to all This chicken stuff but found out that its growing on me and I'm loving it! :) my son is 4 and has been asking where baby chickens come from so I'm getting 10 fertile eggs in 2 weeks I have a friend giving me an incubator this weekend. My question is there any thing else I need other than an egg turner ? If I turn them by hand how do go about it . How high does the Incubator have to be for them to hatch... Anymore information will be great to!!!!

There are some articles in the BYC Learning Center on Hatching Eggs, this is a really thorough one that covers pretty much everything including turning etc https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/hatching-eggs-101 Do you know what kind of incubator you are borrowing? That will make a difference in temperature, forced air ones (with fans) should be around 99.5-100F and still air 2-3* higher. An extra thermometer/hygrometer or two are always a good idea.

No not sure till I pick it up Sunday ... Thank you for the link
