hello everyone i wonder if you can help me i am animal crazy and have lots of animals a friend bought me a 3 week old chicken today from a farm where he was to small so would have been killed he is eating and drinking well and is active i have just noticed he has a large scab on his side i have bathed it in warm water is there anything else i need to do ??????????

Poor little chick. You could also put on a little neosporien/polysporien (the one with out pain relief in it). at 3 weeks the chick still needs supplemental heat like a heat lamp/ or high wattage bulb on him. If you haven't explored the learning center yet, you will want to take a look there at info on brooding chicks. I guess you will need to figure out what you are going to do with the chick in the long run, too. You might get hooked on chickens!

i am lucky i have a brooder as i raise jap quail so he is in there thankyou for your help only had little one for 8 hours and am hooked already lol
