Called my local feed store today to see what chicks they got in and was told they got Frizzles. Just curious if there is a way to guarantee a chick will be a frizzle before their feathers start to show the characteristics, or if the feed store is just hoping they’ll frizzle. :)

thanks!

I have been raising frizzle serama for several years and know of no way to determine feather type until the feathers actually start growing. Of course if two frizzles are paired together all the chicks will be frizzle or frazzle. This kind of pairing is not normally done as to the problems associated with it; brittle feathering, organ damage, DIS.
Most likely the feed store has chicks that may be frizzle.
