frizzle growing up

yep those of you who said a roo win the prize! This was a feisty chick for a reason. He is now living on a farm with a bunch of hens to boss around. He's a banty in standard hen land, but almost as big as the standard hens with all those feathers that stick out. We purchased 4 sexed chicks last spring, 2 turned out to be roosters. Live and learn...we're now looking for a couple of pullets to round out the coop. If anyone knows where to purchase pullets, please let me know. I would like to have a cochin frizzle, but I've heard they're not great layers. I'd also like to get a barred rock and a rhode island red. We currently have 2 banty hens--an ameracauna and a buff sebright. (we're city chicken owners)

Are you in pdx? Lovely roo you had there

hi coffeegirl, yes, he is beautiful. a bit ornery, but beautiful. he's started attacking his new owner recently. yes, we are in p-town, west side, where are you?

Our new coop arrived yesterday. Woo hoo!!! Our chickens seem to be adjusting well. Our two free rangers had their doubts last night, but the newest members who were cooped up in a cat carrier since Saturday, are happy as can be. Now I need to get busy and get some paint and stain on it before the next rain begins.

Gidget, our Americauna, was the first brave hen to walk the ramp up to the loft coop to check out the new digs...

Here's one of our new pullets, she's a black cochin banty. My daughter has named her Raven.
