Frizzle Hen

I have a really bad habit of not collecting my bantam eggs, bad idea where silkie and silkie crosses are concerned. I had a little Frizzle hen that was setting on a clutch of eggs, I was not even sure when she starting setting. Saturday my son comes and tells me to come down to the lot. She had hatched 12 little silkie/frizzle chicks! She is just a tiny little thing, I don't even know how she gets them all under her. They are soooo cute!

I will try and do that tonight. I was busy with a hungry fox yesterday, see other post!

I know nothing about the genetics of frizzles. I bought two frizzle hens last year and they are in with pure breed silkies, so what will the babies be??

OK, here is a picture, sorry it is not a very good one, it was dark this morning as I headed out. Also sorry for her condition, she was the roosters favorite and from now on will live in a hen pen only!

Thanks for the pictures, they are soooo cute! I believe they are called Sizzles.
