Frizzle question

I have a rooster whos dad was a frizzle. He has "normal" feathers. Can he produce frizzle babbies even though he isnt frizzled? Does the gene carry on like that?

Sorry but no the gene is not carried like that. Either of the actual parent birds has to be frizzle for it too be passed on. If your cockerel is smooth he has not got the gene to produce a frizzle

Is he totally smooth like any regular chicken? I ask because I had a rooster that started off an obvious frizzle but straightened out as he grew till he was more shaggy than frizzled . Just thought if he's shaggy maybe he still has the frizzle gene.
