and Welcome to Backyard Chickens.
to have you here with us. Enjoy your time here at BYC!
I'd sure like add a handsome young fellow like that to our flock. That would be a great addition to the gene pool here.Hey Chicken Crew!
I have read so many threads here over the years and I’m finally posting my own
I bought a frizzle (believing it was a hen). Her name is Carly but we have started calling her Cassie because she’s growing to the size of a CassowarieI have tried researching different ways of sexing them when they’re a bit older but haven’t found anything too helpful or concrete.
Today she made a semi crow noise so now I'm now questioning if she’s a he! I don’t mind having a rooster but my crazy neighbour reported me last time
She’s about 20 weeks oldI think!
Thanks in advance for any tips!
Perhaps your cranky neighbor could give you a couple of weeks to see if Carl would mate with, is that a RIR hen? Then of course, if you let her sit, you'll have a bunch of chicks to deal with, but it's another shot of trying for a frizzle hen if your heart is set on one. He's so beautiful so I'd want to! Frizzle is a dominant gene so you'd stand a good chance of getting a few more.
