frizzled guineas?????

IMO- they are just regular guineas. We see the curly feathers in some birds when in a brooder or a pen where they are underneath a roof. I think it has to do with diet, but also humidity and moisture. Once they get rained on when outside it usually corrects.

That could explain things. Weird though. Mine are kept indoors in a very large horse water trough as a brooder. We're in central Texas and it's fairly humid here, but not like they would get if they were outside.

I'd like to move them outside soon. The feather dust 19 birds kick up is unreal.

Odd..... this is what was happening to mine... I thought it was angelwing so I returned them... only noticed the main wing feathers poking out oddly on mine.... no other feathers had come in yet.... odd. Maybe I should have kept mine

This corrects itself?

Six weeks old, they both look the same, so I only included one pic.

Their feathers are smoothing out, but still flip up a little. It's cute while it lasts.

I just saw an ADULT guinea at the flea market this weekend that was frizzled. Had never seen or heard of such a thing but it looked healthy.
