frizzled or ruffled bobwhite quail

Any updates on frizzled feathers in quail?

Just a note, but this thread is over 8 years old. Another thing that I have heard from reputable breeders and that makes sense to me is that frizzled feathers are not a good mutation. The feathers don't keep the bird warm and can be painful for the bird. It's probably not a trait you want to breed for.

I'm aware of how old the thread is. I raised silkie and satin chickens for over 6 years some of which had the frizzled feathering and they thrived in the winter and were not painful to the birds.
