Frizzled Silkie

That is the sizzlingest sizzle EVER! I'm assuming you've already examined her beak to tail. Be sure to check around her vent feathers for lice and egg sacs. You may want to consider worming her. She may just be a little extra tiny....happens in all species. She looks soooooo softtttt....

She did have lice. I gave her a bath with flea/lice shampoo and dusted her with permethryn (sp??). She's in a cage that's been dusted with that and DE with the Polish and a buff brahma pullet that came from the same place (I gave them all baths and dusted them).

I don't see anything weird in their droppings - do you think I should still worm them? I'm guessing the other 2 are about 10 weeks.

I wouldn't worm them just yet. The lice can weaken them and they should be given time to recover completely. I have never wormed mine in over a year. I only treat if there are symptoms. I'm dealing with lice now too. You MUST repeat dusting/bath in 10 days in order to kill any new bugs that may have hatched. The powder doesn't kill the eggs.

Thanks - that is what I was thinking. I had to de-lice once before when we got chickens from this guy, so I know we'll need to do it again. So far they seem to be doing really well eating a lot, so hopefully this does the trick for them. The little one looks so small against my other silkies... hopefully they are nice to her. One of mine are broody right now and boy is she a MEANIE when I take her out of the coop to make sure she gets something to eat. She yells and pecks at everyone else.

She's a frizzled silkie. Sizzles are silkies (all attributes of the silkie except the feather type). with barbed (normal) chicken feathers and come frizzled or smooth. Frizzled silkies have silkie feathers that are frizzled. She's really cute!

Oh she is so precious! I have a sizzle myself and he has similar feathering. Very soft and pliable like you mentioned. He is the same size as my regular silkie rooster, but looks bigger because of the obnoxious feathers lol.
