Hello from Ireland :)
I'm a new member but long time fan of the site.I currently have 26 birds of diferent breed, colour, size and personallity!
I'm a big fan of sebrights and have three gold and one silver at the moment. My goldie's are hand raised by me and are very affectionate and clever. My silver sebright's parents were my pets untill they started attacking the other birds, they got rehomed to a bird keeping best friend 5 doors away and I was thrilled when he gave me some of their fertile eggs.I gave my broody the eggs and just three weeks ago my former pets baby,Tinky, was born along with a baby pekin called Bambam.Their adoptive broody/mother Indy is a hen that I also hand raised, she was one of my first hand raised hens and has a very tom-boyish personality.Thats why we were so shocked when she went broody, she's been the best mother ever and has let my handle her and her babies since they were born. When she's let out for some time alone she squaks at me and I get to babysit the hens when she takes off for her dust bath or for her leg stretching. My profile pic is of my year old gold sebrights Murtdock and Luna.Luna passed away but Murt is still going strong and as big a diva as ever.Especially since she got her new partner Summer a few months ago.Any hints or tips on sebright keeping is appreciated always.Still learning about hens and chicks.Just bought my first incubator though I've had hens for just six years.I was never allowed by my parents, they knew I'd never part with the chicks but they've finally given in.I'm 21 now so they know I'll be more realistic with my flock numbers.
