From 7 quail to 25 quail in three hours! Here's how:

Lol Well I started off with 7 bobwhite quail yesterday.

Then when my mom got home from work, she called this man on craigslist. He had an ad for Coturnix quail for 2 bucks each! Well anyways, we headed up there at 6:30 PM and we arrived around 7:45. I ended up getting 18 quail from him, 3 quail egg cartons, 1 bantam egg carton, a magazine, and a wealth of knowledge!

He is a bird-a-holic! I took him a male/ female pair of pearl Guineas and I got 10 bucks for them. He put them in with his hundred some other guineas. lol

Then we started talking and I looked back towards the back part of his property. There were about 100 of those plastic barrels all lined up and stacked on top of each other. I asked him what they are for and he told me he has show chickens in them! I was like cool. lol

Then he showed me his quail which were in rabbit pens inside of chicken pens. He had a couple of trios of bantams seperated into different pens. His roosters were so old that their spurs had grown into a circle!

Well I left with 13 big browns, a trio of Texas A&Ms, and a pair of mexican speckled bobwhites.

Now my quail count is up to 25 quail! I just need to find some place to get egg cartons. lol

My question is: Are the mexican speckled bobwhites worth anything? Arent they almost rare?

I am just learning about quail so can't help with how rare they are. I would love some pictures!!?

mexican speckleds. No i dont think so, they're just as common as the other funky bobwhite colors.

Remember to watch all those birds together like that.

Surprisingly, they are all doing pretty good together. I did seperate the mexican bobwhites intoi a rat cage that I got for free off of craigslist. I have only gotten 1 mexican, 1 big brown, and 1 A&M egg.
