From laid to hatch question.........

How long does it take for an egg to hatch? I would like to know before this spring when I let my girls have a boyfriend.

Any help would be great.

It takes 21 days from the time incubation starts. Just b/c an egg is laid doesn't mean it will develop...it never will unless your hen goes broody and sits on it or you stick it in an incubator.

I am hoping atleast one will go broody. I have 10 girls. I want one to have babies.
