Hi,
Just recently joined and haven't had a chance to introduce ourselves. We caught the chicken bug after meeting several families oooiing and ahhhing about raising hens, hearing how "deeeeeeliiicious" fresh organic eggs are, how much personality each girl has and how fun they are to raise.
We had been thinking about raising chicks for some time and finally bit the bullet. We now have 10 chicks in our brooder and the coop is under construction. Exciting times!
But the more we research, the more chicks we want. Alas, we can't have them all.
We live in a very urban environment and are still not *absolutely* sure we should tell our neighbors sooner (proactive), later (reactive) or not at all (ambivalent, until they come knockin' and we come a-bribin' with eggs).
On top of it all, we're just now going to try our hand at hatching....
We're excited, looking forward to contributing to the group and learning from each of you!

(already overrun with chickens and enjoying every minute of it!)
