Hello, my name is Gene, and my wife and I are new to the world of chicken raising. Our flock thus far consists of 6 White Leghorns, a Silkie, and I do believe a female Silver Appleyard duck. I say new because we are still in the process of building and finishing our coop and run, and we have had our layers since February. They started laying around mid July and so far we have gotten almost 10 dozen eggs from them. I enjoy watching and talking to our little girls, and since we made sure to handle them quite often while they were young they are used to us petting them and holding them. Which is supposed to be unusual for Leghorns. I am hoping to get some Buff Orpingtons this fall or winter to have them ready for spring. I will post pictures of my coop when it is finished as well as of my little flock.

Well.....the pictures I have seen that are a real close match to the ducks feather colors and pattern match a female Silver Appleyard. I will post a pic to get feedback on it from anyone who may know.
