From shed to coop- it's finally done! *pictures!*

That turned out awesome!

I love it. It looks really beautiful. I do have to add, though, that the nesting boxes are way too high up. They like to roost high, so that part will work, but the boxes need to be down closer to the floor. It is a chicken's nature to make nests on the ground, not in trees

They may end up roosting on top of the boxes, actually.

You restored it nicely, though. Love the shutters and door, especially

Thanks!

I put the boxes there to be above the perch (for poop & gravity reasons) and I put the perch 4' up so that they're high enough off the ground just in case a predator finds a way into the coop on nights I'm not home right at dusk to shut the top door.

I researched everything else but I never looked into height of nests! Ugh. I suppose if they won't lay that high that I could move them to another wall. It was so easy to put them were they are because those shelf bracket things were already there.

There are exposed trusses in the coop and if the one that can get that high is any indication- that's where they'll roost.

Clever reuse of metal roofing/siding for the inside. I have a bunch of that stuff, but it's not waterproof (too many nail holes). But now I have an idea for future projects. Nice remodel!
