Yesterday I noticed he had a crack and the tip was a little loose when I touched it, I kind of left it alone thinking maybe it would stay on if I just left it alone. I was thinking of putting super glue on it but he was too wiggly to let me do anything to him. Now today I saw the peice broke off... will it grow back? Or is it permanent with the break being so far back

It should grow back at least partially, that little bit of exposed "meat" about once a day put a little regular neosporin on that to keep it moist and help it heal.:)

Thank you, that's what I was thinking to do.

I'm pretty sure it will grow back. This happened to mine except not quite this bad and hers grew back perfectly shaped. Praying for you and your hen. ❤❤❤:) GOD bless. JESUS CHRIST loves you.

Thank you :)

This very thing happened to me late last summer, my crazy chickens dug under their new coop looking for bugs, little did they know I put hardware cloth around the perimeter. My hen Piper, broke the top of her beak off just where your hen did ( I assume she got it stuck in the hardware cloth) , I did super-glue it back on, however, it did fall off the next day. It grew back and today you can't even tell it happened! :)

Piper's beak was tender so I gave her soft things to eat, she was avoiding her regular feed. I gave her scrambled eggs, cooked oats and soft greens until she felt better, I never separated her and she did just fine. She's still # 1 hen!!
