If you are chopping trees or digging weeds/rocks or harvesting animals and a predator (snake, bear, fox) comes out, leave it there. You can chop to your heart's content and won't have another appear until the first one is gone. As long as the job you are trying to do is not in the red, it doesn't cost you any extra energy

I hate to waste precious energy killing those predators however if you do not kill them, they would take an extra energy off of it. Not worth it if you leave it and not enough energy. I know a few times it took six energy points to get rid of the bear and snake. Foxes are not too bad but the groundhogs are murder!
I try to send one gift to everyone while I am on FrV and will try to do more!
It will take a while for newbies to get the hang of it but if you persist, you will get there!
Sometimes FrV cheats on the game.
