Frontline Flea and Tick question

I always used frontline. But I have this past year switched to the cheaper brands that they carry at walmart. One is hartz ond the other is adams. I have not seen fleas on my dogs before or after switching. Fleas are a problem in my area but the less expensive ones worked just as well. Maybe there is a cheaper one for cats.

I've used frontline on my cats, they're still alive. There;s a small difference in the ingredients, and it doesn't make a difference. I'm sure people have different opinions on this, but I'd rather buy frontline for dogs and have a few months of cat flea treatments than buy the crap they sell at Walmart. Hartz is poison.

Also I barely give them flea meds, only did it for a few months when they were exposed to outdoor cats annnnd the one time my stupid friend gave them fleas.

Our vet told us we could use Frontline with both our cats and dogs, and gave us the dosing information.

Update: Thanks to BareFoot's info, I have 4 flea free kitties

I just split the one doggie vial I had between the 4 cats and it worked! No one got sick and there isnt a flea in sight.

I paid 43$ for 3 doggie tubes so thats about 15 per tube.
Got 4 kitties done out of one tube so thats about 4$ per kitty.

Woot!

I'd say if the book was written by a vet, then it's tried and true. I agree that it can be dangerous to use dog meds on cats, but if it's only a dosage issue, then most people don't know the dosage without a vet's advice. Which brings me back to my first statement.

I've seen more bad reactions and heard of more deaths from Hartz than any other product out there..

I have a good friend that runs a rodent breeding business. He is dead set against anyone using Hartz products in general.
