Is this true that you can use the frontline to treat for mites on chickens? I have seen this several times on this website. If so, How much fo it do you use and do you put it on the neck like you do for dogs and cats?

I have been using the sevin dust but since she has eggs on her I feel like I need something stronger. We don't eat the eggs, she is just a pet.

We rescued a puppy that had mites. The vet put Revolution on him and the mites cleared up in days. We had been using Frontline on him for the fleas but it did not clear up the mites.

I know nothing about using any flea/mite med. on chickens but if it is safe would recommend Revolution for mites instead of Frontline.
BTW....we are Frontline people. Use it and love it. I only recommend Revolution because I saw how fast it worked for mites when Frontline did not work.

Frontline will not kill lice or mites, it doesn't on dogs and cats for that- and won't on a chicken either. It kills & repels fleas and ticks nicely in dogs and cat. Lice and mites are different critters. Revolution (selamectin) does kill mites/lice in dogs/cats and is used by show chicken people sometimes for the same purpose. Totally off label for chickens. It is in the class as the more commonly used ivermectin.

I know that! Thats not what I meant. Just informing that we dont eat the egss. She is older and hardly lays anymore.

Be careful, because I have heard that Frontline and Adams can cuase infertility.....
