Frontline spray...best way to apply to get rid of lice

Had to order proper poulty lice treatment online but in the meantime got a bottle of frontline spray from the vet.

Would anyone know the best way to apply this, should I dilute and work it through the weathers using gloves? I tried researching it on the internet and got conflicting ways of doing it!

I never had any luck with those type of treatments. What worked best for me was ivermectin pour-on for cattle ..1/2 cc behind the neck & at the tail..cured the worst..beard mites..i hate those things.

I've never used it on chickens, but I used to work for a companion animal vet, and at least for dogs & cats, it is designed so that as long as you get a sufficient dose on the skin (not just the hair), it spreads itself all over with normal skin movement. One vet I worked for used to put two spots on really big dogs (one between shoulder blades, one at the base of the tail) to help it spread faster. I don't know if it's different for birds & mammals.
I never used the spray, so I don't know what the proper dose would be, I hope the vet told you? And you should be able to call back and ask them for more guidance since they sold it to you.

I haven't used frontline, but know folks who do. It is supposed to last for 3 months. I have heard very bad things about the eggs (exploding), so they must be tossed for at least a week; maybe two--can't even be used as hatching eggs or fed back to the birds.

However, it apparently works very, very well.
