Hi! I just got six beautiful Red Stars a little over a week ago, and we had our first egg yesterday! We have a coop and run in our front yard 
. I am officially a crazy chicken lady now. I LOVE my girls! They are named Madame Cha Cha, Lucy, Starshine, Mystic, and I'm saving two for my kids to name when they visit this weekend: Unnamed Almost Lucy, and Other Chicken. We'll see what they replace those with. My chickens jump on my lap, hunker down to get petted, follow me around, compete with me when I sing, and they each have distinct voices. And did I mention that they purr???? 
I'm excited for the eggs but honestly the joy and benefit they have brought in one week is worth the wait. Happy to be here, as I'm wearing out my brother and his wife up in KY with constant questions.
