Frostbite on Roosters Comb:/

Howdy! It’s been a really cold one here in Michigan been having below freezing temps. My rooster has some frost bite on his comb and I feel so bad but idk what else to do. They’re coop and run isn’t super poopy or dirty, they have ventilation I have a safe heating device he sleeps under I just don’t know if it’s entirely preventable at this point. It might warm up a little bit this coming week hopefully. I have heard that breeds with larger combs can be more susceptible to frost bite. I do have water I leave in their coop with a warmer inside to keep it from freezing but I’ve never had that cause frost bite any other winters. Any recommendations or advice?

We've had a colder January than we've had for many years, so here we are, single combed birds, especially the roosters, will have this happen.
Here it was -14F, and below zero every night recently.
Better than -35F, seen in Minnesota and Wisconsin, but miserable!
He'll be okay really can't be helped without extra heat out there, also may not be safe, depending.
My birds with single combs also had issues this last week, and one of my water heat bases isn't up to this either.
January can't be over soon enough!
