Howdy! It’s been a really cold one here in Michigan been having below freezing temps. My rooster has some frost bite on his comb and I feel so bad but idk what else to do. They’re coop and run isn’t super poopy or dirty, they have ventilation I have a safe heating device he sleeps under I just don’t know if it’s entirely preventable at this point. It might warm up a little bit this coming week hopefully.
I have heard that breeds with larger combs can be more susceptible to frost bite. I do have water I leave in their coop with a warmer inside to keep it from freezing but I’ve never had that cause frost bite any other winters. Any recommendations or advice?
