Alright guys I need your opinion on this.

Last week the temps were in the teens and my rir roo got a tiny bit of frostbite on the tip of his large comb. I woke up this morning and went out to check on him and the front of his comb was black. but hear me out the temps last night were in the 35-40 range and he had a brooder light near the roost for warmth. is it frostbite or is it a burn from where he might have hit it when jumping up or down. he is gorgeous and I would hate for his comb to fall to pieces or worse I have to dub him I don't even think I could get myself to cut my baby's comb.

HELP !!!!!!!

Frostbite can turn black, white and purple. The best thing you can do is put cream on him vaseline, diaper cream, bag balm. Watch out for infection. The part that was frostbitten will fall off in a couple weeks.

sounds like frostbite to me, our temps have been 0 and below and all 3 of my roos have black tips to their combs, it happened to me last year when it was this cold, they healed fine and nothing fell off....

good luck you can offer heat but it does not mean they will take it...
