My rooster has a black frostbitten comb does anybody have any ideas of what to do.

Don’t mess with it. It will blacken and then slough off. Do you have pictures?

One of my birds had it and it got infected . 6 years ago. My first winter. But cleaned and antibiotic all the time. This bird I have now I’ve done very little and no signs of infection just dark scabbing and healing now. Hard to see them in this state but truly less is more.

This is a typical case yes.

I was just going to see if yours looked particularly infected.

I guess just go with leaving it alone at this point.

Is this little spot on my Rhode Island Red’s comb frostbite? It’s been below freezing a couple days and tonight it’s supposed to get to 4*. It wasn’t like that last night. Just wondering if I should do anything or just leave it alone?

By the time you see it, it's been there for a while. The damaged tissue is just now showing up. She'll be fine.
