Frostbite?

Hello, I think one of my girls has frostbite
What should I do? I felt her comb and it’s is still warm to the touch. Not cold, so that’s good. I just don’t know if I should put something on it or what I should do. Thank you.

Just leave it alone. It may heal or it may die off to the healthy part.

gradually warm the affected area(s). For combs, washcloths soaked in lukewarm water can be held very gingerly against them.

Do not touch it anymore or massage or apply anything, just leave it alone, it will heal on its own.

That's the best. Don't be surprised if a lot of it turns black and crusty, like a scab. It will eventually fall off, but could take several weeks.

Yes, I agree, it is frostbite. You do not want to rub massage, or apply anything to the comb. Any sprays, creams, or ointments will freeze, and make it worse. Eventually in a week or two, you may see how much is actually going to become rounded off. Some frostbite may not be so bad, but it takes a month or so to see what will happen.
