I have a hen who has one frothy eye, wheezing, sneezing and head shaking. I cannot get a prescription so I was looking at alternative routes. Found tylosin here https://www.mannlakeltd.com/poultry...D3w31SVK-BwVnqDnmfk3IzWyFoDx4wyEaAiaLEALw_wcB

Noted not for livestock. Or I could try the fish antibiotics route. I need hemp with dosing. I can weigh her if need be or provide anymore information needed. Which medicine is the best route? She's obviously separated from the flock and no one else has signs of it.

Sorry you have a sick hen.

Flush the eye with saline, remove debris/pus and apply an eye ointment like Terramycin in the eye.

The Tylosin you have linked can be used to symptoms from disease like Mycplasma.
Dosing is on the package. 1 tsp powder to 1 gallon of water.

THANK YOU! I actually ended up getting ahold of someone who has the ability to prescribe medication and he suggested amoxicillan if I had any - just so happened to have some left over from one of my kids so I have been giving that to her (with his recommended dosage information). Also found fleas on her - ordered some elector PSP. Poor girl cant catch a break.

I'm glad you were able to have someone help you.

Hopefully what you are dealing with is not Mycoplasma if you are using Amoxicillin. MG has no cell wall, so Amoxicillin would be ineffective.

Are they Sticktight Fleas? If so, the using Permethrin should get rid of them fairly quickly. https://www.backyardchickens.com/ar...tight-fleas-in-poultry-with-permethrin.74325/

She's on day 3 with the amoxicillin and I've already seem a tremendous improvement! Her tail is even perking back up. I believe they are poultry lice. I'll include pictures.
