Frozen chicken came back to life!

I live in Montana and have a small shed style heated chicken coop. The smallest hen, Violet, gets picked on and tends to stay away from the rest of the flock especially at night when they roost. Well, yesterday I found her frozen solid in a nesting box. She was non responsive and cold. But - when my husband went to go remove the carcass, she was running around in the sunshine with the rest of them. What the heck happened? How do I get the other 6 hens (all same age >1 year old) to include her in their nightly roosting? She's always been the runt and is lighter than the rest but she lays well and seems healthy.

I suspect her body's not going to take that again. So if you want your miracle hen to stay alive, maybe start bedding that nesting box a little more heavily, or putting her in the garage or something at night.

My plan is to house her in a smaller wire crate within the coop that way she can't get bumped over to the colder portion of the coop.
