Hey everyone!
This morning while playing with my hens, noticed one of the brahams (about 7 months old) had a good egg-or-two piece of poop that's either frozen / dried onto her back feathers. Almost like an adult version of the pasty butt, except it didn't actually block the orifice. Hen was behaving fine, except for a few instances where she squatted as if she were trying to do the business.
We cleaned up the tangled feather best we could with warm water, but we had to cut away a number of her softer feather back there. Doesn't seem like there were any torn skin. However now there's a bald patch about size of an orange on her butt.
This being CT and gets down to around 20F overnight... will she have any issues with the cold? Any concerns with other hens trying to peck her?
