Frozen water

hey guys.
this is my first winter and I have a small flock in the back yard. 3 in a smaller coop (big enough for 4) that is off the ground and then they have a run.

I was wondering if people could give me a few cheap tips on keeping them warm, water freezing etc.

Last two years I used a heated base for a metal waterer, and the horse and goat get one of those floating de-icers.

I'm going to have to break ice up three times or so today - I haven't put out the de-icer yet, and I was planning on buying a new plastic heated font for the chickens.

This storm with snow and ice kinda took me by surprise.

Not sure if you have power out there- I use an electric dog bowl.
