Frozen Water!

frozen water hear also.... hard to keep the coupe above freezeing when the lows are in the single digits.

but plenty of sun so they have been free rangeing and everyone (the 2 chickens, the 2 dogs and the 2 cats) all use the same fresh water we set out every morning/afternoon so .....

im not to worreid about it.

Should be getting back above freezeing tomarrow so.... just a short cold spell.

It's funny you posted this b/c I'm in Indiana too and yesterday was my first experience with the dreaded 'frozen water'. I felt horrible that I hadn't checked it earlier!

And Brrr it's cold!

I solved this problem by getting a heated dog water bowl and a extension cord and they love it cause they have water and its not frozen anymore...just a thought

I always put a tennis ball in my horses water trough before school.

That seems to work fro me!

But then, your chickens water bowl may be too small!

I have heated waterers and just run an extension cord. A lifesaver up here! The only problem is occassionally a chicken will kick out the plug so I have to plug it back in and wait for the water to thaw

but it's a heck of a lot better than dealing with frozen waterers every morning.
