Fruit Cocktail ok for 10 week old chicks?

Hi All,
I gave my 10 week old some fruit cocktail and they loved it. Is this okay? They are silkies, frizzles, cochin. They of course are still on their chick starter feed but this was just a treat. It's canned fruit cocktail. They like the fruit and they drink the juice. Please let me know if this was all right. If not, I won't give them anymore. They sure loved it though! Julie

I don't think it will hurt them but its best to avoid sugary foods.

I give my 7 weeks olds fresh fruit, like watermelon. They LOVE watermelon.
