Fruit for laying hens?

I throw all kinds of stuff into the pen for my laying hens to eat, including fruit. They've not stopped laying.

Mine get chopped bannanas and blueberries every morning. Apples, peach, cucumbers with yogurt most afternoons. 12 hens lay 11-12 eggs a day like clockwork. Not a problem.

Mine get all sorts of random fruit, hasn't had any effect on their laying!

Citrus it's supposed to be good for them.

My girls LOVE watermelon. And cantalope. And I put blueberries on their yogart sometimes. Or sometimes I put grape jelly on it. They LOVE that. My girls aren't fond of bananas though.

Here's a link on treats to feed your chickens.

I have a small orchard and as soon as I let the girls out of the run they bee line it right to all the windfalls under the apple trees. No problems for me either.

So interesting....plain chopped bannanas are the absolute favorite of mine.

I am going to try the grape jelly!

I have apple and pear trees. The chickens have eaten all season on what falls on the ground. Bushes of fruit. I'm getting plenty of eggs, with no problems noted. The LOVE the apples and pears!
