@Mrs. K thank you so much for taking the time to respond! Your points are ones that I have not come across in what I have read so far, but seem so practical and easy to implement. I think you are exactly correct. While Lorelei (the lowest ranked hen) has a few places to run to get away, she can never actually get out of sight, other than going in the coop. Hazel (the bully) will even follow her in there. I have attempted to let them work it out, but have to intervene when Lorelei ends up in a corner, with her head down, and just letting them attack her (usually by this point Rosslyn has joined in). When I separate Hazel, Rossyln and Lorelei immediately get along fine, with the occasional peck by Rossyln at Lorelei's bald patches. She is not causing any irritation or drawing any blood.
I am honestly, completely distraught at this point. I can't stand the thought of getting rid of Hazel, nor can I stand the thought of them hurting Lorelei. I may try building a much larger, taller run for them, but I just have no building experience. At this point, I have to give it a shot.
Thank you again!
