I have a coop but no pen for my chickens so the fre range all day. At 20 weeks we got our first egg. A week later we got our next two one that was laid in nest box. Next day the same but both in nest box but I was hearing egg song everywhere around the house. Yesterday saw a hen leave a vine covered area and she was singing her head off. Went down to find a nest of 9 eggs at same time another hen went off behind me and found another nest of 8 eggs. Needless to say chickens locked up for today which is raining anyways. So if chcikens do any free ranging this could be happening to you also.
