Frustrated with Neighbors

WHen you are at the local office supply store buying that no trespassing sign, pick up a box of heavy duty thumbtacks.

Don't forget to say "ooppsss! I dropped them!" as you scatter the tacks on the ATV path as you put up your sign in case you are being filmed

We have certain association gates chained closed with padlocks. I say padlocks because one padlock is our association padlock, and the other is a utility padlock. Basically two pieces of chain operating as one. Either of us can open the chain using a different lock.

Well I know I'd be mad as heck if it were me. And a lot of times trying to be a good neighbor to someone who is already running over you results in them being even more disrespectful. I would have one conversation with the parents and only one.

As far as a lawyer? Well first I'd put up the electric fence if at all possible and no tresspassing signs. Even if you can't fence the whole place maybe just certain area's that would make driving in harder or impractical? Hard to say without knowing the layout and where the easement lies. That is going to be way, way cheaper then starting to pay legal fee's which have a funny little way of dragging on and on. These people may back off with a simple letter from a lawyer, or they may not until you have a court order. Even then they may not.

But do put up the signs, our idiot legal system does allow idiots to sue you when they get hurt on your property.

The no trespassing signs are your proof that you have done 'due diligence' and that they know they are not allowed on the property.

If it is an easement they probably have the right to use it.

Why is it most, not all, have such a problem with everything...neighbours, kids, taxes, inflation religion, and everything else....dang, can't we go talk to people and work out our problems...since when does everything become a crisis??

I have talked to the parents. Ive talked to the kids. They think that since its the countys right of way, and the property stakes are ten feet back from the road, that it means its not my property and they have a right to cut into my driveway and go up the hill instead of using the road and having to go an additional ten feet to get to thier driveway which is also on the same road as mine. They are doing this because I had my property surveyed and found that where they thought thier property corner was was wrong and it is MY property. They are ticked because they lost ten feet of property that wasnt theirs.
They know that I dont want them riding thier ATV's thru my yard, right of way or not. And to deliberately go halfway up the road, back up, and start coming onto my property and start going up the hill, thats just vindicitive. Talking to them til Im blue in the face and turning the other cheek just isnt working.

Yeah, from what I read, the only question Rammy asked was "Is there any legal recourse to stop this?" Not "What are your opinions on me having a problem with my neighbor?" I second what KristyHall said. It's a section of the forum well known for people venting about these types of issues. I also don't understand telling Lifesong Farm that he/she should be a "good neighbor" when their 7 years old's chicken was killed due to marauding trespassers. There's no evidence that he/she was ever a bad neighbor. That just seemed kind of cold.

Ditto.. no need for it at all.

*nods nods* Rammy Is a nice person, and deserves a chance to vent.

Awwww, shucks!

You have no idea what these people have done to me. It got to the point I stopped eating, kept the lights off so they wouldnt know where I was in the house, and lost sleep. I kept a journal but never called the sheriff because 1) I honestly didnt know I could, 2) when I found out I could, I was afraid to because as someone else stated, I thought it would make things worse 3) I talked to a lawyer about a letter and HE said it might make things worse so I was afraid to do THAT.

Im sorry I keep complaining about this. I just want them to respect my property as I have thiers.

I would do that but people also ride thier horses down thru there so I dont want to accidently hurt someones animal. And I dont want to accidently hurt the dog or anyones dog by accident by them stepping on it. Its not the dogs fault, its the irresponsible owners.

I will post pics to show you what Im talking about. My game camera that I think someone<next door neighbors son> tried to steal has the daughter going thru my yard in the day time, and at night.

Here is the right of way Im talking about. You can see where I stopped the fence because your not allowed to block it. I have called the county commissioner and a lawyer, who havent gotten back to me, about the problem to see what they say I can do as far as maybe putting Tposts up there or a big rock, and to see what the lawyer can tell me as far as if its still my property even though its the counties right of way.
I am getting No Trespassing signs this weekend and putting them up. As I stated before, Ive talked to the parent<mom> and she says, oh, I'll tell them to stop, and they dont. So it does no good.

P.S. You can see from the pic of the property that the little bleep son next door weedwacked down my flowers to where they USED to think thier property was. Twice in a row. THIS Year.....Im calling the sheriff.
