I have the Hovabator 1588. The instructions say fill one trough for the first 18 days. Which makes the humidity about 60%, then fill the second trough the last 3 days, humidity about 75%. I have had good hatches and bad. Very frustrating when the chicks make it to the end only to die in egg. I have read other posts about keeping the humidity much lower. Whats right? My hovabator instructions or the advice of others?? The doubt sets in when I have had a bad hatch of course. Then when I have a great hatch, I think I am doing it right.. UGH, whats right???
