All I have is a standard household 100W bulb & it's just not working

Just get an LED flashlight, I have a 9 blub LED and it works great even with the dark shells. Or you can put a light in a box and cut a hole in the top of the box, just big enough to put the egg in with out it dropping through. That is what I used my first few times.

Hmmm...the lightbox may be doable. Do I just set my regular lamp under a cardboard box & hold the eggs over the hole with all the other lights off? I have an assortment of egg sizes tho ranging from Banty & Silkie to Saxony & Runner. Should I make different sized holes & just cover the ones I don't need for that egg or will 1 size work for all?
 
You could give it a try, what I did was put my heat lamp (not a red one) in the box. Maybe you could make 2 holes and just cover one when the other is in use. The holes make it to where the light is really concentrated to that spot.
 
Just candled my 12 EE eggs. Of the 12 only 1 is questionable. All the rest look good. Also candled Duck eggs due the 27th and saw definite movement in 2. Had to discard 2, leaving me 4. So it looks like I'm still in the game!

3 Ducks i could see a dancing baby very happy

1 Infertile

2 Red Ring

They have been discarded

now im left with 3 Duck eggs
