Nice looking chicks! I also had temp issues. Mine are due to hatch today and I see no activity at all. Hopefully they will just be delayed and hatch tomorrow or the next day. We'll see. Congrats to everyone else.

Out of 88 eggs I'm down to 42. Here is what's left:

my ducks just went into lockdown this morning but im worried for them

the small pointy end on day 20 is supposed to be dark and solid where the chick has grown but today on day 25 it is not its is a clear visable open area [i hope its not left over Albulem]

then i looked at aircell and it looks too small and upon weighing the eggs i was right they are both 2 grams to heavy then the ideal 14% weight loss

please god i hope they hatch out just fine

although i decided to order some day old chicks

got 5 chicks and 2 white cambells comming on june 11th

Do they go into lock down for 3 days just like chicken eggs?

Rachael, My chickens go into lockdown the 31st. And last night i was candling, and i accidently cracked the best developed egg. D: But i put candle wax on the crack, and i candled again this morning to see if the chick was still alive and he/she was! She(hopefully) was a dancing.

Yes they do

all birds have a 3 day lockdown

day 25 for ducks and hatch on day 28

Yeah, Good thing i read up on incubating before incubating. And your incubator, is it a homemade?

Nope, but it is a cheap Hovabator.

Mine is a homemade. My Mother made it for me.

When is the next time your setting eggs for hatching? I wanna be in it.
