Welcome to the hen party! We just started collecting our new menagerie at the beginning of this month. It has been almost 10 years since we last had chickens. We have 10 buff orps and 9 speckled Sussex. (One of our Speckles Sussex chicks did not make it past 5 days. We tried so hard but she just did not have what she needed.). We are planning to get more chicks next week. (Barred Rocks and Welsummers.). As if 19 chicks were not enough to manage. We have two large brooder boxes my husband made. They are living the life.
