As a LAST DITCH EFFORT, you can try pouring alcahol on it. I've done this twice and it worked.

Once with an alarm clock. My son left his on his window sill, it got rained on. I let it dry and it didn't work. I poured half a bottle of alcahol on it and it worked the next day.

Then I dropped a hygrometer in bleach water when cleaning my bator. I put alcahol on that and it started working again. However, when the humidity gets over 96, it stops working.

I would try the rice or silica pack thing first.

Good luck!

Ok this may be alittle sick, but I used to work for a boarding/training dog kennel and I was bringing a little Maltese into the house where it was kept. It was cool that night so I had a water proof windbreaker on and I noticed water drops on the floor when I was putting this dig in his crate and so I thought he had piddled a little. Then I saw some on my jeans and then i suck my hand in my windbreaker pocket and this special little dog had completely peed and filled my pocket with my cell phone. Needless to say that I needed a new cell phone.
