Fully Zipped Egg bleeding out: UPDATE pg 5

Update:

He's still kicking this morning. The sack was mostly absorbed, no more bleeding, but it had not yet detached. He still seemed a little weak, so i changed his towel. I also pulled out the other chicks that had hatched--so the peeping doesn't goad him into moving around too much.

I am at work now: which is good because I would be looking in there all day, or be tempted to mess with him.

I've been keeping tabs on the posts ... I'm glad he survived the night. It is nerve wracking for us too!!! Hope he gets stronger and stronger ... cuz we're rooting for the both of ya!

I love being wrong!! WOOHOO! Glad the little guy made it out! I guess it wasn't quite as serious as it first seemed, which is good

I know it's still a bit iffy but I really hope he/she pulls through! That is awesome!!!!

I dunno, I think you were right. He WOULD have died--the egg was filling up with liquids so he either would have drowned or dried out and got stuck in there. It was one of those: "darned if you don't so why not give it a whirl?" situations. Here's hoping he's good to go when I get home.

And that he is a SHE. Because that would be my luck.

Update:

SHE was still alive when I got home. The blood sack was mostly absorbed, barely attached. I cut it off (

it stuck to my finger) , wiped her down, and put her in with the other chick that hatched today.

She's still sorta weak, so tonight I'll give her some sugar water.

AND I will take pictures for everyone who has held my hand throughout this process.
