A chicken garden is great! In the wild, jungle fowl roam around forests and the outskirts of fields. Being in amongst plants makes chickens feel safe. They rest and sleep underneath them during the day, finding protection from rain or hot sun, hiding from predators and scratching around for bugs. There are many plants chickens can eat.
Although chickens like foraging in a grassy field, they love foraging where there’s a garden!
Mulberry trees are a good example of a plant for chickens because they eat fruit that falls on the ground, and provide good cover.
Herbs have many benifits to a chickens heath.
Chickens love hanging in and around shrubs.
They like perching in trees.
Not only will a chicken garden look good, but your chickens will love it! Another thing you can do is put branches, logs and fallen / cut down trees in the run for them to climb on.
