I've got a great thing going on right now. I have 3 hens that started sitting on 15 eggs. It is nice because when 1 gets up to eat, drink, and hit the potty, the other 2 move over to cover the eggs. Now I have 9 chicks hatched so 1 mama tends to them while 1 sits and the other wanders, changing when they need to. Even the Papa comes down to be with the group. The babies run around, playing with each other and jumping on to "ride" on the adults.
I have a mother that I had separated a week before the other three sat. And teenagers in the interior cage. In total I have 1 rooster, 4 hens, 2 cockerel, 3 pullets, 11 chicks, and 5 eggs. There are 9 ducks and 16 turkey eggs. Add to that 2 beehives with one on the way. Two lambs to be added at some point in the next two months along with an adopted donkey. The farm is really Buzzzzing!
